You Are the sea, see?
A film by William & Gianina
They fell in love. Then they forgot themselves.
15 min | Surreal Romance, Short
Set against the sweeping backdrop of California’s coastline, You Are The Sea, See? is a visually immersive surreal romance that follows two young lovers—He and She—as they spiral through the emotional chaos of performing for an always-online world.
She is a digital siren, livestreaming her life in a golden haze of myth and illusion. He is a lost prophet, drawn by a sacred purpose to spread the Word. Suspended in a kaleidoscopic realm outside of time, they fall for each other under the gaze of masked figures—enigmatic watchers who begin to root for their unraveling.
But as love blooms, so does the danger. For her, vulnerability becomes perilous in a world where everyone is watching. For him, devotion to her threatens to overwrite the mission that once defined him.
“I’m not discussing GOD with you because we’re LIVE on the Internet,” she pleads—torn between pleasing her followers, and actually connecting with him.
With the sea as their witness, You Are the Sea, See? blurs the line between faith and fantasy, performance and truth, self and other—until the illusion of choice itself dissolves into a loving nothingness.
